Feed Registrar Office

Animal Feed Sub-Division is functioning under the Division of Veterinary Regulatory Affairs. With the view of ensuring the quality of available animal feed in local market, the Animal Feed Act No.15 of 1986 and its regulations is implemented to regulate, supervise and control the manufacture, sale, distribution of animal feed and import of animal feed and feed ingredients. Subsequent amendments for Animal Feeds Act are been carried out and published as Animal Feed Act No.15 of 2016 to further strengthen the activities carried out under the act.

5. Issuing of International Veterinary Health Certificate for Feed Exporters
6. Annual visits of Animal Feed manufacturers/animal feed importers premises
7. Animal Feed Advisory Committee Meeting
8. Investigation of illegal selling of animal feed
9. Monitoring of the imports & availability
10. Preparing the quota for importation of grains.
11.  Preparing regulation limits for feed of animal origin for hazards and contamination coming through animal feed
